Interesting fact:
The very first 8 Lane Road in Tanzania.
Kimara – Kibaha is the very first 8 lane road in Tanzania. We had to clear & grub around 120 Hectares of land in making of this road.
Additional work included road safety features as well as fitting of proper drainage systems, constructing 5 bridges (Kibamba Bridge, Kiluvya Bridge, Mpiji Bridge, Mlongazala Bridge, Mbezi Bridge) and culvert boxes, and constructing a railway crossing as part of the road section.
Site camps and offices were also established with the heavy pile construction for safety of the workers as well as the people crossing by ensuring no accidents and injuries occurred.
All along the road solar streetlights are being used.
More than 5 million hours of manpower are being used, Estim engineers were up for a challenge to finish the project within 2 and half years.
